Bericht zum Musikcamp in Korle Gonno von unserer Freiwilligen Alexandra

\nVom 15.08.-19.08.2022 haben wir in Korle Gonno ein Musikcamp organisiert. Insgesamt nahmen 29 Sch\u00fcler*innen daran teil. Die Idee kam ein paar Wochen zuvor von Kathy Knowles, der Gr\u00fcnderin des Osu Library Fund. Mit Hilfe von Irene und ihrem Mann Thomas haben Lea und Ich das Programm inklusive Zeitplan aufgestellt. Jeweils von 9:00-15:00 Uhr gab es ein Programm bestehend aus Classes, Rehearsals, Ensemble, Choir und Dance\/Games\/Rhythm. Die Classes fanden jeweils morgens statt. Dort haben wir mit den Kindern haupts\u00e4chlich musiktheoretische Inhalte besprochen. Der Fokus lag dabei auf dem Notenlesen und der Unterscheidung der Notenwerte. Zus\u00e4tzlich haben wir einen \u00dcberblick \u00fcber die verschiedenen Musikepochen gegeben und einige Werke angeh\u00f6rt. In den Rehearsals wurde normal geprobt. Der Fokus lag dabei auf den zwei St\u00fccken \u201eTrust and Obey\u201c und \u201eEbe Tatale\u201c, welche dann im Ensemble zusammengespielt wurden. Im Chor lag der Schwerpunkt vor allem auf Einsing\u00fcbungen, es wurde aber auch ein- und zweistimmig gesungen. Ein Highlight war, dass die Kinder auch mal selbst Dirigieren durften – mit Tempowechsel und Pausen. Das hat echt gut geklappt und die Kinder hatten richtig Spa\u00df dabei! In Dance\/Games\/Rhythm haben wir unter anderem Klatsch\u00fcbungen und diverse kleine Auflockerungsspiele gemacht. Es gab auch einen kleinen Camptanz und wir haben den Kindern Walzer beigebracht. Das war definitiv ein Highlight!
\nF\u00fcr mich war es besonders sch\u00f6n zu sehen, wie die Kinder als Gruppe zusammengewachsen sind und sich auch gegenseitig geholfen haben. Ich habe das Gef\u00fchl wir konnten viel neues vermitteln und die Begeisterung f\u00fcr Musik noch steigern. Ich glaube das Camp war sowohl f\u00fcr die Kinder wie auch f\u00fcr uns ein tolles Erlebnis und ich bin sicher es wird nicht das letzte sein! <\/p>\n

Report on the music camp in Korle Gonno by our volunteer Alexandra <\/p>\n

From 15.08.-19.08.2022 we organised a music camp in Korle Gonno. A total of 29 students took part. The idea came a few weeks earlier from Kathy Knowles, the founder of the Osu Library Fund. With the help of Irene and her husband Thomas, Lea and I set up the programme and schedule. The programme consisted of classes, rehearsals, ensemble, choir and dance\/games\/rhythm from 9:00-15:00. The classes took place in the morning. There we mainly discussed music theory with the children. The focus was on music reading and the distinction between musical note values. In addition, we gave an overview of the different musical epochs and listened to some compositions. In the rehearsals we rehearsed normally. The focus was on the two pieces “Trust and Obey” and “Ebe Tatale”, which were then played together in the ensemble. In the choir, the focus was mainly on warm-up exercises, but there was also singing in one and two part harmony. A highlight was that the children were allowed to do some conducting themselves – with tempo changes and pauses. It worked really well and the children had a lot of fun! In Dance\/Games\/Rhythm we did clapping exercises and various short games to loosen up. There was also a little camp dance and we taught the children to waltz. That was definitely a highlight!
\nFor me, it was especially nice to see how the children grew together as a group and also helped each other. I have the feeling that we were able to teach them a lot of new things and increase their enthusiasm for music. I think the camp was a great experience for the children as well as for us and I’m sure it won’t be the last one
